Hey guys today we are doing a spoiler free review on the Woman King.  I’m Edgar and I’m Bert now let’s get into this movie review. This film follows the agojie women warriors, trained to protect the African Kingdom. This film takes place in the 1920s during the peak of the slave trade and the horrors that accompanied along with it. The agojie have had enough and are ready to protect their land and people. They have trained the next generation of woman warriors to become the fiercest fighters. To become true warriors, they will have to overcome their past. The king of tahomey decides to do what is best for his people but with the looming danger of slavers in his land it’s up to the Agoji to fight the greatest battle to keep their people safe and end the reign of their oppressors.

Okay guys it’s time for our rating, as always, we’re going to rate the categories 1 to 5. 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. Starting off with the Action category, this film we got good sequences involving the Agoji Warriors training to be the king’s guards. There was a lot of fighting scenes along the way. This film scores 4 out of 5 in our action category. Moving on to the next category, we have drama. Although this is an action-packed lore movie it has emotional and character-building moments. Safe to say it demonstrate moments of drama. We rate the drama in this movie 3 out of 5. Finally, the Suspense category, this film has a few moments that keep you guessing. Overall, it is not as suspenseful as we thought. We rate the suspense 2 ½ out of 5. Per usual we are going to give an overall score. First, we rate it personally and then critically. We rate it between A+ to D-. With A+ being the highest and D-the lowest. We were initially interested in this movie especially after seeing the trailer. We thoroughly enjoyed and remained invested while watching it. The action scenes were put together very well. The story was beautifully written. Safe to say we liked the film, and we are giving it a solid B. Now onto our critical score. Again, we must reiterate that we thoroughly enjoyed this film. Unfortunately, a lot of the scenes and characters could have been written a little better. In regard to some of the scenes they tended to drag on. The action was the real highlight of the overall film. With all that said our critical score is C +.

This film is a great action movie and starts the fall season off right. Keep in mind this film contains a lot of violence and disturbing imagery just in case you plan to bring the whole family. That’s our review of The Woman King.
